Our Family's Journey Through Time
Fifty-three relatives and friends attended the Jones Family Reunion at the home of Ron and Tammy Hurt, also hosted by Donald Jones. Family members began arriving at the lakeside residence on Friday afternoon.
New family members are April Nichole Fornero born April 11, 1994 to Tim and Linda Fornero and Angela Jean Hurt was born August 13, 1993 to Ron and Tammy Hurt.
There were four graduations this year. Teresa Jones graduated 8th grade, Kent Heidenreich from high school, Angela Heidenreich from high school, and Ray Jones from high school. Congratulations!
Wilbur Mitchell passed away on May 9, 1994. He was the husband of Dolores Mitchell and father of Karen and LuAnn.
Eating, visiting, and card playing were part of the weekend enjoyment. Also a few vain attempts at fishing and some first-rate boat tours of the lake by Captain Ron. A silent auction was held Saturday morning after breakfast unti the regular auction and business meeting after lunch. It was very successful and a lot of sun bringing in a total of $665.00. After expenses there was $145.00 left for next year's reunion. Favorite recipes of friends and family are being collected for a possible Jones family cookbook in the near future.
Vivian Hutchins volunteered to host next year's reunion which will be the 25th anniversary. The meeting was adjourned just in time for a very strong thunderstorm, which caused some minor damage and moved the reunion indoors for the rest of the weekend. A good time was had by all in spite of the weather.
