1972 - Paw Paw, Michigan

The third annual Jones Family Reunion was held on June 24, 1972 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Jones, at Paw Paw, Michigan. Mrs. Wilbur (Dolores) Mitchell had charge of the meeting.

There were 49 people accounted for that came to enjoy a dinner featuring barbecued chicken on a very cold June 24, 1972. At least the ones in charge of the cooking end kept warm. Later in the evening it was decided to move indoors where it was warmer.

Some of the past and present highlights of the past year since we met included two weddings, they were Tom Heidenreich and Evelyn Hassinger on August 8, 1971 at Flanagan, Illinois. Tom is the son of Fred and Betty Heidenreich and Evelyn is the daughter of Roy and Betty Hassinger.

Sandra Marie Hutchins and Alan G. Sampsell were married at Lawrence, Michigan, June 17, 1972. Sandra is the daughter of Vivian and Horace Hutchins and Alan is the son of Albert and Pauline (deceased) Sampsell.

The birthdays of David L. Jones and Evelyn Heidenreich were celebrated.

Later in the afternoon, visiting and cards were enjoyed by everyone.

There were 10 children, 13 and younger at this meeting. The youngest being Brian David Jones.

Games of baseball, horseshoes, and volleyball were played and enjoyed by the young and not so young.

All in all cold weather included, a good time was had by all.

One new great-grandchild, Rhonda Marie Jones, September 29, 1971 at Beaufort, South Carolina.
