Our Family's Journey Through Time
In spite of the appressive heat, that flirted with the 100 degree mark, plus a brisk hot wind, we had a good turn out for the 19th Jones Family Reunion. We had 57 present on Saturday and 49 on Sunday. The reunion was hosted by Fred and Betty Heidenreich at the Flanagan City Park and at their home.
We had a good showing of the younger people, which we enjoyed andhop to see more of them in the coming years.
It is good to see all of the old fmailiar faces and regular attendies, bit it is really great to see so many new and younger ones. Keep it up.
We tried something new this year. We had each family bring a potluck dinner that they would take on a picnic. Also their own pop and beer.
We had a large array of food and desserts, which we managed to use for two meals. One thing for sure, we hve some good cooks in this family.
We are still furnishing the plates, cups, napkins, coffee, iced tea, etc, which we divide with any other expenses.
Since the reunion in 1987 we have had 3 new births. On August 15, 1987, Jessica Ann Jones arrived. Her parents are Matthew and Karen Jones. Her grandparents are Donald Jones and Phyllis Jones.
On September 17, 1987 Richard Clayton Dorstewitz arrived. His parents are Gary and Pamela (Hutchins) Dorstewitz of Lawrence, Michigan. his grandparents are Horace and Vivian Hutchins. He is also their first grandson.
On October 3, 1987 Emily Anne Forenro arrived. Her parents are Tim and Linda (Heidenreich) Fornero of Pontiac, Illinois. Her grandparents are Fred and Betty Heidenreich. Congratulations eceryone!!!
There were no weddings this year.
This year on Saturday Horace Hutchins was the oldest, and Emily Anne Fornero was the youngest. On Sunday Viola Carson, Thelma Perry, Adele Phillips, Beverly Adrian, and Joan Derango were present.
Aunt Viola, Aunt Thelma, and Aunt Adele, and Aunt Dolly, are the only remaining sisters of Elverda E. (Phillips) Jones immediate family.
The reunion will again be held on June 24th and 25th, 1989. At this time we don't know if the reunion will be hosted by Rollan and Marilyn Jones. Alternate hosts and hostess will be Tim and Marie Heidenreich.
We hope we will again have a large crown.
See you next year.
