Our Family's Journey Through Time
The 22nd annual Jones reunion was hel on June 22nd and 23rd, 1991 at the home of Gary and Pam Doestewitz in Lawrence, Michigan.
The weather, being typically Michigan in nature, delighted the reunioneers with rain, cold and wind most of the weekend. That, however, did not dimish the spirits of those that attended. No matter what the weather, it is always good to see "family" again for we make our own sunshine.
A variety of foods was enjoyed thanks to the donations of generous family members, the grill expertise of Rollan and Gary, and food preparation by Vivian, Sandra, Kris, Dolores, and Pam. Thank you to all who helped with the set up and the clean up. It sure makes the host job easier.
A traditional White Elephant and craft auction was held with very successful results. It's not surprising given all the talent that was assembled during that weekend.
Minutes were read and approved from the last reunion in North Carolina. Prize winners were announced and are:
Oldest - Horace Hutchins
Youngest - Paul Durre
Farthest Traveled - Dolores Mitchell/Lena Cattell
Closest - The Dorstewitz clan
There was an additional marriage to announce that being the union of Kenneth Jones and Terry Speros on January 25, 1991. Welcome to the family Terry.
David Jones has volunteered to host the reunion next year at his new residence in Quincy, Illinois. The exact time has hot been finalized, but it wil be around the traditional third weekend. It sounds like he had a number of exciting activities planned. Hope to see you all there in 1992.
