June 22 and 23, 1974 - Paw Paw, Michigan, USA

The fifth annual reunion of the Jones' family was held at Grandma and Grandpa Jones' home in Paw Paw on June 22 and 23, 1974.

The weather looked rather doubtful as the gathering grouped together on Saturday to enjoy a tremendous noon meal of hamburgers and hot dogs grilled to perfection. By the time the last hamburg was served up, a grand total of 46 people were present plys 2 ladies who were looking for a bargain at what they thought was a garage sale.

The afternoon was filled with rain showers but it didn't dampen the enthusiam of the younger ones playing baseball and volleyball nor did it dampen the spirits of the (may I say) older folks inside.

There were also 3 new babies who joined the Jones' clan during the past year. The first was Kevin Richard Heidenreich, son of Thomas and Evelyn Heidenreich of Minonk, Illinois, who was born on July 12, 1973. Next was William Jay Kindlespire, who was born on August 14, 1973. He is the son of Jeff and LuAnn Kindlespire of Morris, Illinois. And fianlly there is Andrew David Kukman, son of Neil and Karen Kukman, of Morris, Illinois. Andy was born on May 14, 1974 to make the total of great-grandchildren, Four.

Following an evening of good company, friendly games of cards, (with two more shootouts over crooked dealing and score-keeping) topped off with a superb meal of bar-b-que chicken and all the fixings, the families went their own ways and found lodging wherever possible for the night.

Sunday, all returnd to Grandma and Grandpa's to finish up left overs from the Saturday banquet. A general meeting was held following the meal to decide where the next doings will be held and who will be in charge. Those lucky people are Donald Dean Jones as chairman and Thomas and Evelyn Heidenreich as so-chairman.

The financial report was presented and following a brief discussion, approved. The figures were:

All are looking forward to the sixth such get together in 1975.
