1982 - Lincolnton, North Carolina, USA

1982 Annual Jones Family Reunion

The 13th annual Jones reunion was held in Lincolnton, North Carolina at, near, around, and in the home of Rollan and Marilyn. Kenneth Jones, Master Chef, prepared such culinary masterpieces as roast pig (to be lightly complimented by a savory, subtly spiced bar b q sauce) and golden fried flounder. There was also boiled shrimp, hamburgers, hot dogs and a host of side dishes and deserts.

The festivities were graced with 54 smiling faces of friends, relatives, and other assorted persons during the Thursday and Friday activities.

The highlight of this years gala event was undoubtably the water fight. Weapons were pistol sprayers and were eagerly snatched up by young and old alike. Peace reigned only after each and every member of the gathering was thouroughly soaked.

Business meeting got underway. No dues were collected this year. Pam Jacobs suggested every other year citing expense as her reason. Marilyn opposed the idea and it was rejected. Ann and Phil are to hold the reunion next year with David and Judy as alternatives. There was a round of applause for Rollan and Marilyn for their hospitality.

Meeting adjourned.
